Op 19 september 2024 promoveerde Annette Westgeest aan de Universiteit Leiden op haar proefschrift getiteld ‘Staphylococcus aureus colonization and infection – Optimizing MRSA decolonization and addressing challenges in S. aureus bacteremia management’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder supervisie van promotoren prof. dr. M.G.J. de Boer en prof. dr. L.G. Visser en copromotoren dr. M.M.C. Lambregts en dr. E.F. Schippers. In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen besproken.
