Op 22 december 2023 promoveerde Auke de Jong aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam op zijn proefschrift getiteld ‘Fungal pathogens exposed: novel insights into Candida auris and emerging relatives of the Candida haemulonii species complex’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder supervisie van promotor prof. dr. F. Hagen. In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen van dit proefschrift besproken.
