Op 6 oktober 2020 promoveerde Gerdie de Jong aan de Erasmus Universiteit op het proefschrift getiteld ‘Heterogeneity in human responses during malaria infection and immunization’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder supervisie van promotoren prof. dr. A. Verbon en prof. dr. R.W. Sauerwein en copromotoren dr. J.J. van Hellemond en dr. P.J.J. van Genderen. In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen besproken.
