Op 15 mei 2013 promoveerde mw. dr. J.M. da Silva Voorham aan de Rijksuniversiteit van Groningen op het proefschrift ‘Immature dengue virus: functional properties and potential contribution to disease’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder begeleiding van prof. dr. J.M. Smit en prof. dr. J. Wilschut (afdeling Medische Microbiologie). Hieronder worden de belangrijkste bevindingen van het proefschrift beschreven.
