Op 21 oktober 2015 promoveerde dr. J. ten Oever aan de Radboud Universiteit te Nijmegen op het proefschrift ‘Footprints of infection: novel diagnostic strategies in infectious diseases’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder leiding van promotor prof. dr. M.G. Netea en co-promotores dr. ir. M. van Deuren en dr. F.L. van de Veerdonk (afdeling Interne Geneeskunde, Radboudumc, Nijmegen). Hieronder staan de belangrijkste bevindingen van het proefschrift beschreven.
