Op 14 september 2018 promoveerde Maarten van Wijhe aan de Rijkuniversiteit Groningen op het proefschrift ‘The public health impact of vaccination programmes in the Netherlands. A historical analysis of mortality, morbidity, and costs’. Het onderzoek werd uitgevoerd in samenwerking met het RIVM en werd verricht onder leiding van promotor prof. dr. M.J. Postma en copromotor prof. dr. J. Wallinga. In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen besproken.
