Op 8 februari 2018 promoveerde Simone Spoorenberg aan de Universiteit Utrecht op het proefschrift getiteld: ‘Guiding therapy and adjunctive treatment in community-acquired pneumonia’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder leiding van promotoren prof. dr. J.C. Grutters (longarts) en prof. dr. ir. G.T. Rijkers (medisch immunoloog) en copromotoren dr. W.J.W. Bos (internist-nefroloog) en dr. E.M.W. van de Garde (ziekenhuisapotheker). In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen besproken.
