Op 25 april 2018 promoveerde Vanessa Harris aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam op het proefschrift getiteld: ‘The role of the intestinal microbiome in rotavirus vaccine immunogenicity. An exploration from correlation to causation’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder leiding van promotoren prof. dr. W.J. Wiersinga (internist-infectioloog) en prof. dr. M. Boele van Hensbroek (kinderarts-infectioloog) en copromotoren prof. dr. T. van der Poll (internist-infectioloog) en prof. dr. C. Giaquinto (kinderarts). In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen besproken.
