Op 21 september 2012 promoveerde dr. W. De Haes aan de Universiteit van Antwerpen, op het proefschrift getiteld ‘Particulate antigen delivery to dendritic cells in the context of HIV-1 immunotherapy’. Het onderzoek is verricht op het Instituut voor Tropische Geneeskunde te Antwerpen onder begeleiding van prof. dr. G. Vanham en co-promoter prof. dr. S.C. De Smedt. Hieronder zijn de belangrijkste bevindingen beschreven.
