Op 16 oktober 2015 promoveerde dr. W.P. Brouwer aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam op het proefschrift ‘Individualized management of patients with chronic hepatitis B’. Het onderzoek werd verricht onder leiding van promotor prof. dr. H.L.A. Janssen (Liver unit, Toronto General Hospital, University Health Network Toronto, Canada/ Erasmus Medisch Centrum Rotterdam) en copromotor dr. B.E. Hansen (afdeling Maag-, Darm- en Leverziekten, Erasmus Medisch Centrum Rotterdam). In dit artikel worden de belangrijkste bevindingen van het proefschrift besproken.
